Your gift gives hope. By joining us in our mission, you are bringing hope and healing to the many girls and boys served by our psychiatric residential and day treatment programs. Parents often tell us that Uta Halee or Cooper Village was their child’s last hope for recovery from self-destructive behaviors, such as running away, suicide attempts and drug and alcohol use, and that we saved their child’s life. Your gift changes lives. Your gift to us means so much to the kids we serve. Sadly, not all of our parents have the means to pay for all services provided to their children and family. We rely upon friends and donors like you to help us reach out through your kindness. Your sustained generosity supports programs that are critical to the success of all the youth we serve. Thank you. You are helping us save lives.
Make a donation to the Campaign for Wellness today Join us in our Campaign for Wellness. Uta Halee’s $7.5 million campaign, Centering on Mind, Body & Spirit: A Campaign for Wellness, will help us to continue to provide a healing environment for our community’s young women who are at risk to not reach adulthood. Your donation will help provide the type of facilities that will address the emotional, spiritual and physical well-being of the girls at Uta Halee and give us the ability to further address all of their needs: mind, body and spirit. This campaign will support the construction of the new Wellness Center and two new cottages that will replace outdated 1960s-style dormitories. Renovation of existing facilities will bring together administrative and business functions in one location. And, project endowment will help sustain programs and services. Suzanne and Walter Scott, Jr. are our campaign honorary chairs. Heidi and Jeff Wilke are the campaign co-chairs. Through their generosity and leadership within the community we have raised more than $4 million dollars of our $7.5 million dollar goal for this capital campaign. To reach our goal and fulfill our mission, we need your help. If you wish to visit Uta Halee Girls Village and see how your donation will benefit so many, or if you have other questions, please call Tracy Wells at 402-457-1316.
A gift of cash - This is the simplest way to give. Cash gifts can be put to immediate use for Uta Halee and Cooper Village, and the gift may be tax-deductible if you itemize. Retirement accounts - If you are over the age of 59-1/2 and have retirement accounts, you may wish to make withdrawals to fund your gifts. You report the income on your tax return while taking a corresponding deduction up to the allowable limits. Charitable Giving Through Individual Retirement Accounts – In order to help charities further their good work, Congress recently changed the rules for charitable gifts made from individual retirement accounts (IRA). If you are over age 70-1/2, the Federal government now permits you to rollover amounts from your IRA to charity without claiming an increase income or paying any additional tax. These tax-free rollover gifts could be $1,000, $10,000 or any amount up to $100,000 in one year. This tax incentive is until December 31, 2007. Stocks - When you donate stock that you have owned for more than one year, you may be able to deduct the stock's full fair-market value and avoid any capital gains tax. Life insurance - You may wish to donate the cash value of a life insurance policy that you no longer need. Tangible personal property - Gifts of artwork, rare books, stamp or coin collections and other tangible personal property generally entitle you to a charitable deduction. Wills and bequests - A bequest in your will can provide a lasting legacy of your support of Uta Halee and Cooper Village, in addition to providing your estate with tax benefits.
